Assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force (Intelligence and Space Technology) and Director of the National Reconnaissance Office, 2007-2009
Mr. Large is a senior vice president and strategic advisor for SRA International. Large became the 16th director of the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), and was appointed assistant to the secretary of the Air Force (intelligence space technology) in October 2007. He was appointed DNRO by the secretary of defense with the concurrence of the director of national intelligence. Previously, Large was associate deputy director for science and technology at the CIA; director of the source operations and management directorate of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA); and principal deputy director, NRO. Large earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of Central Florida.
