Dr. Ballhaus is the former president and chief executive officer of The Aerospace Corporation. Under his leadership there were no failures in over 50 launches of Air Force and National Reconnaissance Office satellite systems for which Aerospace had mission success accountability. Previously, he was a corporate officer and vice president, Engineering and Technology, for Lockheed Martin Corporation. Ballhaus earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in mechanical engineering, and a doctorate in engineering, from the University of California at Berkeley.
