Mr. Edward C. Aldridge, Jr.

Under Secretary of the Air Force/Secretary of the Air Force and Director of the National Reconnaissance Office, 1981-1988

Mr. Aldridge retired from government service in May 2003 as the under secretary of defense (acquisition, technology, and logistics). Prior to this appointment, Aldridge was president and CEO of The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, Calif. Previously, he was president of the McDonnell Douglas Electronic Systems Company; served as the secretary of the Air Force, appointed by President Reagan; and was director of the National Reconnaissance Office. Aldridge earned a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical engineering from Texas A&M University, and a Master of Science degree in aeronautical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
