Featured International Industry Speaker

Ms. Evie Haskell interviewed the featured international industry speaker, Mr. Robert Bednarek. SES is the world's largest commercial satellite operator. SES New Skies, a member of the SES family provides capacity outside of the United States and Western Europe. The discussion centered around the differences and challenges of working with commercial customers and government agencies. Mr. Bednarek noted that often the approaches and problems for government and commercial customers are the same, but the languages are different. As commercial operators take on more government activity, they are becoming aware of potential vulnerabilities and the need to protect their assets. This will require early and in-depth conversations with government agencies to be sure operators can meet capacity and capability needs. SES has eight satellites under construction to meet the increasing demand for capacity.
